Our People

At NCR, we’ve always invested in our employees and pioneered experiences to bring out the best in each other. From the first daylight factories to our employee care programs, we’ve continued to invest in our employees’ well-being and growth—on both a personal and professional level.

Community engagement

We take our responsibilities as a member of the global business community very seriously. The NCR Foundation is a catalyst of opportunity and change, leveraging our talents and resources to better our communities around the world, focusing its grantmaking on helping nonprofit partners globally in STEM education, economic development, and disaster response.

We are committed to giving 1% of NCR net profits back to help our nonprofit partners achieve a real and lasting impact.

Our strategy is to partner with nonprofit organizations to maximize impact and make a difference in our communities. We invest in organizations that align with our causes and values in the U.S. and globally. We pledge to increase our yearly giving to equal one percent of our adjusted net income to support our valued communities.

Culture and shared values

Our Shared Values are inspired by our founder, who more than 130 years ago encouraged NCR employees to always focus on our customers, employees and innovation. Our employees embody our values to create our culture, drive how we conduct business and guide how we interact with each other, our customers, our partners, our suppliers, and the communities in which we operate.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our commitment to diversity starts at the top and is deeply integrated throughout our organization and shared values. We’re committed to being a globally inclusive company where all people are treated fairly, recognized for their individuality, promoted based on performance and encouraged to strive for their full potential.

We believe in understanding and respecting differences among all people. This encompasses (but isn’t limited to) human differences of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, culture, religion, ability and diversity of thought.

Every person at NCR has an ongoing responsibility to respect and support a globally diverse environment.

Talent Development

Taking care of our people is a critical part of our strategy. We strive to enable a culture and employment brand that attracts, develops, and retains top talent. We anchor our entire talent lifecycle around our Shared Values, IDEAS program, and competency model. Through this cycle, we aim to attract and recruit, hire, and onboard, develop and train, manage performance and engage and reward diverse and inspired employees.

At NCR, we provide several employee development and engagement programs. We take pride in providing our employees the opportunities they need to feel connected, challenged, supported and heard. We provide several employee development and engagement programs, including:

  • Our annual employee engagement survey, which is reported directly to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors
  • Education opportunities through NCR University, our online education platform for employees
  • NCR’s tuition reimbursement program, which supports undergraduate and graduate-level education assistance
  • Regular performance and talent reviews to manage, engage and reward our employees
  • Formal mentorship programs, business resource groups, fitness and nutrition programs, and other programs to support optimal work/life balance

Employee health and safety

Health and safety are top priorities at NCR. We’re deliberate in designing programs that protect our employees while mitigating potential workplace incidents that could arise. We’re also proactive in enforcing all applicable occupational health and safety regulations, laws, and policies across our global footprint.

Our employees are always encouraged to speak up and report any concerns of wrongdoing through the multiple independent avenues we provide to report ethical problems. Employees can report concerns to their management teams, local human resources or legal departments, or directly to the company-wide Ethics and Compliance Office. Employees can also make anonymous reports via the NCR Alert line, available 24/7.

NCR’s Risk Committee assists the Board of Directors with its oversight responsibilities for matters relating to health and safety.
